Member Lateral and compression/tension stiffness

Hi,

how does Robot calculate member stiffness

1. Compression/tenion stiffness AxE ?

2. Lateral stiffness IxE ?

Is it right?

"A" and "I" can be adjusted in member section properties and "E" in material properties

Thanks!

Hi @JPNR87 ,

That is correct. The member axial and bending stiffness is derived from its crossectional area and second moment of areas correspondingly. Which then acts in conjunction with the material young modulus 'E'.
