Load Combinations

Hello everyone,

I have defined Dead, Live and Seismic loads in my model and i want to create automatic code combinations according to Eurocode. I dont want to take into account any accidental combinations, I only want combinations with Dead, Live and Seismic Loads. How do i do this?

Do I need to include any ACC combinations in order to take into account the seismic loads? or I only need the ULS and SLS combinations?

Thank you

Yes , you need to include any ACC combinations in order to take into account the seismic loads

Ok thanks a lot for your reply,

I have one more question, do you know what the ACC accidental combinations are? and how are they used by the software to create combinations.

For example in my case I have Dead, Live and Seismic Loads (X & Y direction), what happens if i use ACC accidental combinations for combination generation? (is this related in any way to EC1-1-7 accidental actions?

As in the capture :

I highly recommend you to watch this webinar

I actually did watch the webinar but i am a bit confused between Robot accidental load combinations and Eurocode 1-1-7 Accidental actions.

Hi, I did watch the video but i am a bit confused between the Accidental load combinations in Robot and accidental actions in Eurocode 1-1-7.

In EC0 "6.4.3.3 Combinations of actions for accidental design situations" and " 6.4.3.4 Combinations of actions for seismic design situations" are two different things therefore its a bit confusing when Robot considers the seismic actions in the accidental combinations.

I did watch the webinar, however I am confused between Robot ACC combinations and Eurocode ACC combinations.

In eurocode, ACC combinations and seismic combinations are two different things but in robot seismic combinations are under ACC combinations

Hi @barbara.eft

“In eurocode, ACC combinations and seismic combinations are two different things but in robot seismic combinations are under ACC combinations’’

Yes, But RSA generates the ACC combination based on your accidental load case type (as in the pictures). On other hand if you define load case as accidental then ACC combination will be generated but if you define the load case as a seismic then seismic combination will be generated .

As well if you have both cases (ACC& Seismic) then the load combinations will be generated for both cases .

Hi

One question I am using the LRFD, but when I do the automatic load combinations only lets me check the ULS and SLS combinations, how can I active the ACC loads combinations?
