Link matlab Robot Structural Analysis

Hello,

Is possible link RSA with matlab instead of Visual Basic API. The idea is to use Matlab for optimize structures calculated in Robot. Matlab can calculate with Ansys but... with Robot, is possible please?

Thanks

Hi,

I believe that the answer is "no"! You can optimize the structure also with excel VBA. Ansys is a different product, is a mechanical software and, probably, is more hard to use than Robot for AEC structural analysis.

Take a look to the existing and free API made in excel, you will see that is easy and powerful and fully personalizable.

Thanks!!

I don't like to develop a software from excel because I want to calculate de joint and the efect of the semirigid joint in the frame in order to optimizate the structure.  Are you sure is this posible? define the joints (diameters of bolts,. plates...etc), section of beams columns,, check the joint in RSA and columns all together in one step from VB?

Cheers

Hi pvidallopez,

You can do everything you write directly in robot:

1) optimize the structure;
2) define and calculate the joints;
3) robot can run automatically the calculation of the semi rigid stiffness of each joint and automatically create the releases

Please whatch the webinars in the youtube channel.

You don't need matlab .

According to this article :

http://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/examples/programming-with-com-on-windows.html?prodcode=ML

it should be possible to use Robot API (COM) from Matlab

Additional info of your concern posted here:
