Integral value and reduced forces

Hi,

could someone maybe give me the an explanation of the difference between the integral value and the reduced forces values when using the panel cuts tool bar, in simple layman's terms if possible? I know when you take a panel cut through a section of a panel the reduced forces and reduced moments will give you the forces applied in the x, y and z planes for the forces applied through that certain panel cut only in the global axis, however what does the integral value indicate is it for the whole structure through that point in that plane?

Thanks,

S.

Hi @skellyRSA2023

Imagine that you defined a vertical panel which represents a horizontal beam (so long but with relatively low height) and you make a vertical cut in its milled (span). If you look at the integral value (area of the diagram) you can determine the total value of the axial force or shear force in this location. For the reduced results you will see them too but in addition you can see the bending moment in a beam (bar element) like fashion:

I'm sorry, I did not understand your explanation about the difference between the integral value and the reduced value

Kindly, can you look at this screen show and explain to me why the reduced shear force value does not equal the integral value.

Zip and attach the model if possible
