Impulse load on hanging pendulum

I have a hanging structure subjected to impulse loads (wind pressure) from passing vehicles. How should I go about analysing the behaviour of the structure from one load impulse? I.e. a transient analysis where I can apply an impulse load on the structure to see the behaviour of it and how it swings after the load is applied. Are there any tutorials or other material regarding this subject? Thanks.
