Hello,

I juste have installed Robot Millenium 21.0.

I can open the software and create a new structure, save it and re-open it, but i can't open files from other users.

Can you help me please ?

Thank you.

Sophie.

Most likely these files are created in newer version(s) than yours.
BTW: pretty old version.

How to convert a robot file in a previous version ?

Could you send me a test file which would be compatible ?

Otherwise, how can I update my version ?

Buy new one.

Robot Millenium 21.0 seems to be the 2008 version (not so old!). I'd like to check if the problem really comes from the version or if it comes from the installation itself, because Robot seems to start reading the file (it changes the title above the toolbar) but then crashes without any other explanation.

If I understand you correctly, we have to buy a new licence each year. Isn't there any compatibility between older and newer versions ?

Really? Good luck.

Not exactly, if you pay for subscription you do not have to "buy = pay full price" each year.

Older -> Newer   - always

Newer  -> Older  - no

I am not sure of the year of version 21.0, i have seen "Copyright 2008 Autodesk" in "Help" -> "About Robot ".

Is it possible to update directly from 21.0 to Robot 2014 (for example) without buying it as a new licence ? I have tried "Help" -> "Updating" but I get an error message : "Error 13001 : software manager doesn't know this product. Product is not saved in FLEXnet Connect" (Sorry for the approximative english translation).
