I have a grid structure made up only of beam elements for which I need to model supporting rectangular wall/column. This wall/column provides only restraint for vertical translation along its entire top line, while at the bottom line its fixed. Can I create this boundary condition using only beam elements?

You can use linear releases along the top edge of the walls

And is there a way to model the wall using beam elements? I can use 4 beam elements as seen below, but that wouldnt make it a wall, but 4 columns.
