Harmonic analysis

Hi,

I have a question if it is possible to connect rigid links. I have a machine foundation and loads are placed as for example a motor, fan... They are connected with shaft. Dynamic force has one load but  there are also masses that should be connected. How is it possible, I am using volumetric structure design. I have attached a screenshot how it should be.

I am also constantly getting warning "loads applied to faces without claddings will not be included in calclulations. What does this mean? I have made nodes on the surfice of element and rigid link is connected with these nodes.

Thank You,

Rauno

Hi @rauno.verbitskas233CE

There should be no problem with using rigid links for distant forces and masses definition while harmonic analysis.

Regarding warning about loads, plase Zip and share model for verification

Hi,

Thank You for answer.

My question was if it is possible to connect top rigid link points (screenshot attached) so it works as a shaft.

I have attached my model also.

Thanks,

Rauno

Hi @rauno.verbitskas233CE

Separate rigid link systems cannot be connected with other rigid link. You can use dummy rigid bar (connecting top nodes)  or define whole rigid link system as one rigid link.

Hi,

What do you mean by dummy rigid bar? I tried to put member for example concrete beam between top nodes but after calculation it shows dashed line between points and I believe it doesn't account this member in calculations?

Could you also check the warning " "loads applied to faces without claddings will not be included in calclulations".

Thank You

Hi @rauno.verbitskas233CE

Regarding dummy bar, refer to this article

Hi @rauno.verbitskas233CE

Warning about loads usually concerns surface loads defined for solids. In your model there are no surface loads. All nodal forces applied to the model are recognized correctly.  You can ignore this warning.

Hi @rauno.verbitskas233CE

I do not see any problem with bar definition between nodes  33 34 39

Hi @rauno.verbitskas233CE

I have duplicated effect with bar presented as dotted line.

Freeze mesh before bar definition and model calculation. Use Analysis >Meshing >Mesh freeze.
