Hi @Anonymous,

Yes, it is possible to send model from Robot to Revit. I would recommend to use .smxx file instead of direct integration.

Hi @Anonymous

You may want to watch the recording of the Robot webinar on this topic:

Robot Structural Analysis och Revit är två olika mjukvaror.

If I try this way, it is not working.

I tried many ways to export the model from robot to revit.

I already asked this in another case in this community and I was told to do some updates. Now I'm working with the new versions Revit 2022 and Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2022 and still it's still not working.

Do you have other ideas what the problem could be?

PS: Important point is, that the other way around is working.

I'm not sure what do you mean "that the other way around is working."

If you have Revit and Robot installed side-by-side on your system, then you can use Direct integration.

If you want to use intermediate file (smxx), then you simply save model to a file in a chosen location. You can copy it to another machine.  Then Update model from the smxx file, opening it from Integration dialog.

I would like to create the model at first in robot structural analysis because it is easier for me to define true connections on the nodal points. And after that I would like to import it into Revit or rather send it from Robot to Revit.

I tried different ways and posibillities, but none of them worked --> Revit won't import that model which was created first with robot. The error which is given tells me: "Unbekannter Fehler des Programms", which means 'unknown error of the program'.

The other way around(creating the model in revit and sending to robot) works, but isn't the right way for our needs.

Share RTD file for verification, if you can. Zip it before attachement.

I quickly created the model you can find in the attachement. I started with Robot2022. I tried the direct integration and the possibility by the smxx-Exchange-Data. It still did not work to export the model to Revit2022.

Well, it works on my machine.

Maybe you do something different?

Thank you very much for your informativ video!

No, I think we are doing it the same way.

Now I opened the new project in Revit without any template, just to test it, and it worked.

severinwolff_0-1650891605618.png

That's fine, but I would really like to open it up with a template(BIM Architektur und Ingenieurbau) shown in the following image:

severinwolff_1-1650891652460.png

After this new cognition, that the problem is slumbering in the template of the Revit-project, you may have an idea what solutions we have?

Please share the template. I was able to transfer to Metric-Architectural Template.
Do you have Structure tab visible in the ribbon?

Please see the standard-template, I'd like to work with, in the attachment.

Yes the structure tab is visible in the options if you mean the ribbon like it's shown in the following screenshot:

Yes, I can reproduce the issue on this template.

I will ask development team for checking.

Thank you very much!

As an additional information I'd like to add, that the template I sent yesterday is the standard template by revit in Germany. Maybe this template has to be revised in generally for all users.

Hi,

I have tried the Robot 'direct integration' to Revit, both with Revit 'structural template' and with <none> template, as recommended by commenter above. In either case, I can only get an analytical or 'wireframe' model in Revit. The sections are labelled in properties, with UB/PFC, etc. but there does not seem to be a way to apply the member properties to the wireframe?

Like the above commenter, I develop models in Robot for analysis, and have a third party draftsman developing 3D drawings thereafter on Revit. It seems odd that Revit to Robot works, but not Robot to Revit. any help appreciated.
