Enveloping unfavourable and favourable partial factors?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi there,

I'm currently trying to carry out analysis for a bridge model and need to consider both unfavourable and favourable partial factors for load cases. E.g. for wind loading I need to use a partial factor of 0 for favourable and 1.7 for unfavourable.

I know that I could manually go through and create load combinations for favourable and unfavourable actions in turn but this will be really time consuming. Is there a way of enveloping these factors so that the software will output maximum and minimum values for bending, shear etc., taking into account both the partial factor values?

Thanks,

Lauren

Hi @Anonymous

Loads > Automatic combination > Manual combinations generate > More .....

You'll get combinations with or without wind or LL  (factor will be accordind to your code)
