Envelope result of seismic load combinations crashes the program

Hi,

I've got a building model where I'm looking to envelope results to find the maximum moments/shears etc. The problem is that the program becomes non-responding and crashes whenever I select "combinations" in the load case list to display an envelope.

This is the first time I've used RSA for seismic design so I'm wondering if anyone can take a look at my model and see if I've defined something incorrectly such that the sheer amount of data is crashing the program.

I'm using Robot 2022, link to model here:

Hi @gary.iwansantoso6FRXD

Could you please explain for what type of results, (tables - which table, maps- which type of results ) you are presenting when program crashes after combination selection. I have tried to display results envelope for different type of results and I am able to do that.

I was able to obtain envelope for panel results in table.

Program does not crashes while results presentation.

Please describe steps you do to get program crashed.

Here no problem to display effort table, but diagram of memeber took a big amount of time

@Krzysztof_Wasik @Simau

In this instance I'm looking to generate the diagram for membrane forces to view the results of the individual walls in the core walls.

You're both right when the table results generate fine, but I'm hoping I can use the diagrams to help visualise the results. This is what takes a long time to generate and crashes the program most of the time.

Do I perhaps have too many combinations defined (i.e - some redundant ones)? I would think an envelope is simply a juxtaposition of results. Perhaps I should have defined the core wall as a single element instead of split by stories?

Hi @gary.iwansantoso6FRXD

When equivalent lateral force method is used for seismic loads generation structure objects should be divided according to stories definition. Results for panels are generated in reasonable time  (even for envelopes). Problem is with diagrams for bars. It takes too much time (for such model size) I will discuss it with development. Maybe it is not optimized procedure for combinations including seismic cases. For now you fust need to wait.

Thanks @Krzysztof_Wasik. I suppose then there's nothing much I can do at the moment.

Diagrams for bars was not turned on during my generation of envelopes, unless you meant the calculation of the results in general?

Either way I have resorted to flicking through each case supported by expectations of which case is likely to generate the worst loads. Tables were also a good alternative.
