Hey people,
Does anybody have an example or a solution to how to design an elevated circular water tank with inclined walls? (find the attachment pls)
Many thanks for your concern,
Fadi

I don´t know . Maybe Artur and Rafal know a way .
but you can always set to full window and record a video using JING or similar

By the way, is it possible to download this video?

Thanks for your amazing videos Rafal...
1. How can I apply "soil pressure" on the yellow part of the walls (find out the attached photo please) and on the foundation?
2. In relation to the foundation (Circular foundation: Diameter 25 m, Height: 1.25m) I drew a circular object, then apply "panels" order with thickness of 125 cm, is that correct? if so, how can apply the soil pressure on the side wall of the foundation? (I cant see the thickness of 125m).
If i understood correctly , you cannot apply it. The slab is a 2d object. The thickness dimension is not "physical" . The only load that could represent the soil lateral pressure on the foundation slab would be a linear load on edges , applied on the foundation slab circular perimeter (edges)
You can see the thickness on Display/panels/ Panel thickness , but it is purely graphical.

Ok I understand... Thanks Rafacascudo
What would you suggest to draw this solid raft foundation (Diameter 25m, Height 1.25m): is there any way to extrude an object and then apply the soil pressure on the perimetrical surface, or keep it as a slab (with a specific thickness) and apply the linear load around the perimeter as you said before?
I think No solid modelling is necessary.
If you modelled the foundation slab in its centerline elevation , then superior half slab thickness load is already loaded through the vertical walls lateral loading. Picture below showing slab thickness
Then ,If you really need that level of sofistication , you can apply the load I mentioned on my last post (linear on edges , local system ) ,equivalent to half slab thickness.

So far I have assigned two kinds of loads, Hydrostatic Pressure and Uniform Planar load. When I run the calculation I have 7 warnings, do they have a critical effect on the design?
1-There will be no design in a structure without supports.
2-Separate structure , check the picture.
3-Cohesion ... - unmark "kinematic constraints..." on job preferences/meshing
4- isolated nodes . Click on message warning and nodes will be highlighted. Delete those you don´t need .
5-Incoherent mesh ... - You modelled using the cylinder object with top and base marked. botton big slab is coincident wit one of cylinder´s slabs. There´s also 2 other coincident slabs from 2 other cylinder objects

So far, my model has no warnings or errors 🙂 thank you all for your help...
But even though, I would like to verify it, so would you please take a look at it
After I assigned the loads, how can I get the reinforcement? Isn't from "Design" tab?
Fadi.Khoury.
You should look after a better meshed model . Some finite elements ( top little vertical wall) have proportions of 3cm x52cm which is not recommended. You can check the mesh quality here. Finite elements that do not meet the criteria(0.5 max ratio) are selected
For Design ,you should watch the Excelent Webinars given by Artur and Rafal on

Maybe because Scrrencast (autodesk capturing toll) has been discontinued by autodesk
