Duplicating self-weight of entire model when copying part of a structure

Dear AutoDesk Experts,

I have encountered a major problem while I was developing my model. When I copy panel elements from one model to another, my self-weigh of the entire model doubles.

The copying process is very smooth, without any errors. After checking reactions I noticed that the total vertical load changed from 268087.36 kN to 536893.04 kN after copying and pasting few panels to the model. I am attaching a screenshot of my load table illustrating the 1:DL1 sel-weigh (doubled). The increase of vertical load expected is roughly 1000 kN.

I am working on a 2016 version of Robot.

Thank you for any help in advance.

Regards,

Wawrzyniec

Hi Wawrzyniec,

As the load records are copied from one model to another the self weight if applied to whole model is indeed duplicated. The solution at the moment is to delete one of them.

Thank you so much for your quick response.
I have tried selecting the the duplicated selfweight in the table and deleting it but the window doesn't seem to respond to any action. Would you mind telling me the best way to delete it?

Kind Regards,
Wawrzyniec

Hi @Anonymous

The easiest is to select one of these lines on the edit tab of the loads table and press the Del key.

Dear Developer of RSA and supports,

The above mentioned problem for duplicating and  even for multiple time of the self weight for the same load cases is a dangerous problem specially for large structure when checking the loads values of each load case is very difficult.

I faced a big problem in a large model due to the same situation after insert some parts from other models, the whole self weight is coped multiple times.

Please this problem should be corrected as soon as possible or at least at running phase ,  warnings should be shown the duplication of the self weight for the same load case!.

Thank you everyone.
