Difference between max plate and shell results in table compared to panel cut?

Hi,

 

I have taken plate and shell results from the results table for there maximum and minimum loading along a wall panel Axial Dead, Axial Live and Max and Min Wind Axial Load (top and bottom envelope) and compared these with the panel cut for the same panel in kN/m. Its seems that for the axial Dead and Live loads there is a massive discrepancy between the plate and shell results and panel cuts for the same loading criteria ? however the wind max and min (top and bottom envelopes) match each other? is there some explanation for this, or am I interpreting this incorrectly ? see attached pdf with a number snapshots comparing the different results.

Artur,

 

I have saved a substructure of the model at the below wetransfer download link, as the model is fairly large. The panels which differ for the load combination "total permanent load" are panel 104 and 107 when comparing the panel cut results along the bottom of the panel at the lowest support level (0.000m) and the plate and shell results (Nyy in automatic direction in kN/m) for the same load combination there seems to be a serious difference in the results, if you could have a look it would be appreciated.

I am not too sure if I explained myself correctly, the question was basically why there is such a difference for the same load combination (axial permanent load) between the plate and shell results (Nyy in kN/m - automatic direction) and the panel cut (Nyy in kN/m - automatic direction) ? I have attached a pdf with snapshot which shows the comparison. I was trying compare maximum results in kN/m under pier location.

Artur,

 

I see that is the maximum load for that load combination based on a cluster of nodes which has been factored up to kN/m in Nyy direction then. with that in mind then what is the best and quickest way to get a maximum linear load under the pier of a wall panel in kN/m ? Panel cuts under every panel or is there a way of isolating the support nodes at the bottom of a panel to give the maximum or is there a way of getting these in table format? as I was using the Plate and shell results to get these however as you have pointed out this is not the case as some can be way over what is actually applied in kN/m.

I think if you take panel cut between two points, parallel to axis (x or y) between each side of the individual piers, then this will give you the reduced force in z direction for the pier panel cut only shown as Nyy (automatic direction) thus this would be the easiest way I find.

If you define the wall as two 'side' panels and the third above the opening you will have this information in the reduced results for panels too.

yes, but then it would take a lot longer to draw model as the building elevation is covered in window openings. However, yes it would work.
