hi there,

 

i got a question. In my model

for Cases 8 to 61,  Forces Fx are shown as full compression for top part of truss,  plus   some compression  and then tension  for bottom part.  Is that logic?  I think bottom part should work for tension only, or im wrong? if not, what can be a problen in this model?

Yes, it helps with diagrams. But i want to keep bottom chords  and cables, who are working for tension for reducing spread forces for collumns beacuse of truss self weight and applied loads.  Im seeking for solution of that.

It also takes 30-60 min in calculations for my model with chords and cables. Any chances to reduce this big amount of time ?

Try "tension only" bars instead of cables.

 

On Geometry/Additional atributes/advanced bar properties

Total time: 295 seconds (results-skyline.rtd + multithreaded solver)

I did change cables to truss members. Also, I changed bottom chords releases with columns. Now calculation time reduced to ~10 mins, maybe less,  method - skyline. Thanks for help.

issue was with cable force F0, i dit not change default parameter which was 100kN
