Design Note and Force Table not Consistent

I am currently trying to complete the meber design for a structure which I am designing. Currently some of the members are not passing the code checks and when investigating the reason for this, I have come acrss discrpencies between the member forces listed in the forces table and those used in the design note for the meber.

For example, consider beam 56 in the attached model. From the force table I obtain:

Table.PNG

But compare this to the design note which lists the following design forces:

Design Note.PNG

The meber forces in the design note are significantly higher than those in the forces table - can you explain why this discrepancy occurs? I am using ASD 1989 to verify the structure as parts of it are existing and were originally designed to this code.

NOTE: The uploaded model was saved without results to limit file size.

Thanks

You should check the values in the verification point.

Thank you - that clarifies the discrepancy.

Just one thing further - if I wanted to extract the maximum forces for a set of bars to be used in hand calculations or for other purposes, is there a way to do this without having to specify the verification point for each bar? Ideally I would like to be able to extract the set of results to further manipulate in Excel.

Try to look at the Envelope tab of the Forces table.

The envelope tab only seems to summarise the forces presented in the Value tab of the force table which does not always consider the critical points where the forces are maximum. There must be some way to pull out the maximum internal forces for all members (all points considered) without having to go into the steel design tab for each and every member?

This tab shows the maximal values in number of points one declared. Use the points button as indicated in the previous message before switching to this tab.

Thanks Artur. I understand that I will be able to extract them by declaring the points as explained. However my question is whether there is a way to get RSA to automatically include extraction points at the positions where forces are maximum? If it is able to extract these forces for the member design tab, then one would assume it would be able to do the same and include it in the forces table?

If possible, I would like to have RSA automatically include the critical point with maximum internal forces in the force table for all members. Otherwise the only other option seems to be checking the design calc for all members to determine the location of the critical point and then declaring this as a point or simply declaring hundreds of points along each bar - both of which are tedious methods.

After pressing the points button select Characteristic points then press the Refresh button.
