Design error using Section builder model.

Hello,

 

i have created a section using the section builder from Robot.

i have used this for a design and coming up with an error during member verification check.

Any idea what i have done wrong? thanks

before Saving Section to the Database and if want to justify it, it is important to provide additional information.

My section consist of plates that are wider than the column width.  So my 'b' is not consistent.

Which dimensions will the system use to calculate the section properties? The section i have drawn or the additional information i have used?

first try the minimum thickness and the wider flange.

Hi @Tmanzz.

 

I believe this adittional dimension is only used to local buckling verification. Puting the values that Stephane said you will be on safe side.

 

The "global" section proprietes will be made from real section dimensions that you have drawn.
