Create a dome structure

Dear all,

I'm new to Robot Structural and I'm struggling to model a dome structure in "foam concrete".

My teacher has advised me to create a volumetric structure and create a material with the foam concrete model. However, I can't create a mesh and I do not know why?
First, I created a 2D shape that I revolved around the Z-axis.

Second I created the material.
Third, I defined the support conditions (fixed)

When I try to run an analysis, I get some errors and warning. My knowledge is very limited so your help is much appreciated.

Best regards

Why not a shell model?

that was my second option, and I did.
Unfortunately I'm not able to create a new material with all the properties of foam concrete 😞

@sara-s93  did you follow the procedure below to create a new material?

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/robot-structural-analysis-forum/create-material-robot-structural-anal...

Or was there specific material properties (i.e. non-linear material properties) you needed to create.

I mean, I was able to create the material but I could not apply it to the shell model 😞

It has been very helpful !!!! Thank you very much!

I have another question. If you want to apply a snow load in only one side of the dome as the worst case scenario. Do you have to create a plane cutting the dome in two?
Regarding wind load, if you have different zones with suction and pressure values. How can you apply them?

Thank you again!:)

It did help indeed!
However, once running the Analysis I get weird things and very little displacement to crazy loads.
In your model is possible to show "normal" values according to you loading?
In my case the min and Max stresses are equal to zero which is a bit weird. So Maybe I have issues with the model or something.

Thank you!
