Choosen RC code not obeyed ...

...For slabs and walls . Always go with ACI-metric on code parameters all the way to required reinforcement calculation .

 

Works normally for beams and columms.

 

On job preferences ,It doesn´t ask if you want to convert parameters to the new choosen code . Working normally for other code types(steel, connections).

 

And it happens on RSA 2016 , 2017 and 2018  !!!!

Hi @Rafacascudo

Your problem just happened with me when i changed the RC Structure code in job preferences (after saving the job preferences)

it still uses the BS8110 code that i was using previously.

Maybe it happened because i have changed the code after modeling?!

Then i selected the plate and selected > Design menu > Provide reinforcement of RC elements.

I found that the Calculation options and the Reinforcement parameters is using the new code i have selected.

but yup i think it's a problem.

I think the default Reinforcement pattern goes according to the code you have chosen before modeling.

If you changed the RC Structure code, try making new definition of reinforcement pattern it will go according to the new chosen code:Untitled.png

Yes I noticed that already!!

The problem is that even if you cut (scissor) to erase all reinforcement types not used , those default from the previous code will remain!!!
Cannot understand how can this be a feature and why there's not a single warning.

Very confusing!!

Yes that's confusing.

Although the program notifies that there will be a change in results when you change the code:

Hi @Rafacascudo

 

The calculations are based on the label type assigned to a panel. If the label was defined for other then currently set design code the calculations will be done according to the other code (as set in the label). The scissors can only delete the labels which are not assigned to any object of a model so the first thing is to re-assign the label to a new one created for the currently set design code.

Not familiar with RC module , but this doen´t happen with timber and steel modules and not even for RC bars. So that´s why it is very confusing!!!!!
