Buckling deformation and moving loads

Hi

 

I'm doing analyses on a network arch bridge and I want to introduce a buckling mode as initial deformation (Analysis Types -> Buckling Deformation) . This works fine on load cases without moving loads, but Robot won't run analyses on the load cases with moving loads. Is there any solution to this problem or is it not possible to combine initial deformation and moving loads?

I have Never done. But if it works with regular load cases , it will work if you generate  "normal" load cases from the moving load components

Thanks for your proposal, but I have already tried to do that and it does not work. Seems like this function needs the moving load case to work to create a new load case from component.

Hi @Anonymous

 

I'd suggest you temporarily delete the buckling deformation so that you generate moving loads components (which you can then convert into simple load cases) and then delete the moving load case and restore the buckling deformation.

What happened when I tried this, was that the moving load was removed from the generated case component. Seems like even though you create a new load case from a moving load component, it is not an indepedent load case. Robot still needs to run the moving load case.

 

Does it make sense?

No it doesn't. It is an independent load case
