Buckling Analysis - failing members

Hi,

I am working on a model of a simple steel frame with very little of loads on it. I am getting failing on members selected below (members: 9 12 47 49) for the stability check.
All the beams and simple members are pinned in the structure. I don't understand why these members are failing, it makes me think I missed something when I set up the code parameters for the calculation (not too sure if the buckling was correctly set, it is a bit confused for me on RSA). Could someone help me with this, please?

hi,

if the problem is buckling, you can set new beam type with correct bucking paramiters for those beams:

you can act on global bucking lenght or on the way robot calculate lateral instability paramiter for beam.

if you not sure you can check on bar verification table.

Hi @stm1A

Thanks for your reply. How do I set up in this case? I confess it is a bit confusing for me to set up the buckling on RSA

hi,

in my opinion the best way to consider lateral buckling for those beams is:

Thanks for your help!

I set up as you said for lateral buckling it is ok, however I am getting the failing on uz direction. Do I need to also set up the buckling for Z direction?
