Autocad dwg files import

Hi All

I'm trying to import different types of elements from AutoCAD files. The behavior of Robot seems to me in this case absolutely incomprehensible. If I try to import a solid from a *. sat file created with Autocad Robot, correctly import a volumetric element but I can not import anything from dwg file (2012 version). Obviously, autocad 2012 is installed on  computer.
I can not understand:
1) The type of geometry of the Robot file (building, solid cc.) Influences the import process?
2) What elements of Autocad are imported ?:  solids, surfaces, meshes, or all three?
3) Where can I find a detailed description of the procedures, settings etc.?

Any suggestion ?

Thanks

Hi

To import sat file you have to turn on ACIS (Solid Modeler) in Preferences

acis.JPG

Robot imports from line polylines arcs circles faces and meshes from dwg \ dxf file.

Solids - only as sat files.

Try to import the outer boundaries of panels. You can import them as bars and use them to create panels either by indication a point inside such created contour or by selecting them during a panel definition. After creating panels they can be selected and deleted from the model.

I am trying to turn on my ACIS, but in my Preferences > view parameters menu I do not have the solids modeling options. (see image).

Job preferences/Work parameters  for Solid modeler

dxf/dwg loading parameters will show up only when you Open a dxf or dwg inside Robot Through File /Open project
