API: Pile foundation auto generation in Robot

Dear all

I'm actually busy in the development of a Geotechnical API that create different pile type in Robot, with the elastic support calculated in function of the point depth and the winkler theory. Obviously this API calculate also the bearing capacity of the pile or the piles system.

Well, I'm arrived in a death point, I need your opinion, comment and cooperation to realize a better tool for all.

I'm not a geotechnical expert, so I need your theoretical help, so if you have some spreadsheet for the bearing capacity calculation for piles I'm asking you to share with me, also if you have some other way to calculate the elasticity of the spring for piles.......and everything else you want...

Thak you for your collaboration, cheers

What i want is to find the thickness of the slab foundation

This is the question that you don't want to hear from a structural engineer....

The slab thickness depend by the soil elasticity, the pile geometry, the applied loads, the cracking, the rebars....so this is your work, and nobody can do it for you....so, good luck and share your results with the community..

Happy new year.

hello ,
when i generate a double pile  do i have to link them with a rigid link in robot after generation it
because after generate pile the two pile not link to the selected node

Hi,

Usually I use this macro to generate only one pile, in Robot i copy the single pile created to obtain the desired pile cap geometry.

If you want to refine in the best way as possible the model, you should use SpiderPro made by @Romanich

The following images show what I mean:

did you mean to use spiderpro to make slab with rigid link then generate the pile with your macro

SpiderPro is not an open source API, you can find more details here: http://spider.structuraldesign.pro/

Usually I use Spider when I complete the model, so first of all I create my Pile, then I copy in robot for the geometry that I need, then I use spider to create the rigid links area for piles and pillars.

Cheers.
