Hi,
Does anyone know why the analytical (FE) and simplified (trapezoidal / triangular) load distribution methods might generate different overall loads? We have a large model where the global resultant of reactions (i.e. sum of reactions for all support nodes) differs by approximately 1000 kN in the Z direction depending on whether we select the simplified or analytical load distribution for our panels. It's only a small percentage of the overall load (285 MN) but it's still a large load to suddenly disappear. In each model the loads in balance with the loads out, so it's something to do with the load generated by Robot in the first place. The analytical method of load distribution is producing lower reactions than the simplified load distribution under self-weight.
Thanks for any assistance - I'm confused!
Alan.
