Work sharing effect on performance

I recently started at a new firm and the projects I've worked on so far are sluggish. I was assuming it was because of the PC i'm using or an old bloated template, contributing factors i'm sure. But I opened up a 340 meg model today from an architect that work sharing hadn't been enabled in. It ran great! While the 80 meg model that i'm working in lags terrible. Does work sharing really have that big an impact on performance? Is there anything I can do to improve it? Thanks.

Hi,

your network topology, speed and saturation is a point to check as well.
