Hi Guys,

Is it possible to create this kind of TAG? The thing is, I have to change the brace element and his length manually

Any tip?

Hi,

Thank you for your information. If I understand correctly, you have specific types of wall and you would like to tag them. My recomendation is:

  1. Create seven new types of wall. Each type  should correspond to Bracing Element name, e.g. GS1-N, BL1-H, etc.
  2. Select each wall and go to Properties Palette , then press Edit Type button and type Bracing Element name for Type Mark parameter under Identity Data category
  3. Load wall tag into project and tag the wall
  4. Select tag and press Edit Family button. Then use Save As option.
  5. Use Edit Label tool and add Type Mark and Length parameters.
  6. Load tag family to the project.

Hey mate how did you get on with your bracing?

I am from NZ too so am in the same boat.

This is how I do it....

I build a wall hosted family, (It's a door family at present because I can't get it to work any other way)

So draw your walls how ever you want, then add a "Brace" to the wall, it's a variable length family and appears as either a double line for GS2's or single line for GS1-N etc. I then tag it with a bracing tag. It works sweet as, because it's graphical you can just stretch the brace to suit.
