Trouble with Adaptive family

I'm having some trouble with a generic adaptive family. It's a very simple idea: i want create some reference planes or some markers (e.g. rectangles) at equally spaced intervals along a line. I want to load this family into a project and insert it along beams of various sizes and lengths.

The family needs 2 placement points for start point and end point of beam and some equally spaced intermediary points or planes to mark the middle, the thirds and the quarter-lengths of the beam.

I created the intermediary points as reference points , then put reference planes and rectangles on those points. But that's not adaptive and it won't "scale" to beam length. When i make the intermediary points adaptive, they will  "scale" to beam length, but the visual division markers (e.g. rectangles) will not follow the points.

I don't know how to "host" the rectangles in the intermediary points as i need the rectangles to look like beams sections (perpendicular to beam length).

I made the placement points to orient to host(xyz), but i don't know what to do with the intermediary points.

I am not trying to split the beams in a parametric fashion, i'm trying to put visual markers on beams as visual aid for rebars drawing. By having these markers i could sketch rebars directly without having to measure beam spans and calculate rebar lengths on each side of the beam support. I could also create distinct stirrup sets @different spacing for each third of beam span much easier.

I think you need a reporting parameter dimension, that looks at the total length and then place your intermediate points where needed.

I would only have the first and second points as "Adaptive". Currently the three points between the beginning and end are "Adaptive". They don't need to be. I also think you might need to re-host the points since they no longer have their "Measurement Curve Parameter" available. There are some good YouTube videos that go into how to have that drive the location of the point to be at quarter or three quarter point.

hope this helps some. curious to see how this turns out

@Tom_Kunsman That was my first idea too > Make the intermediary points as reference points, not adaptive points. But the problem with the reference points is they have fixed, non-adaptive reference planes. Their ref. planes does not adapt tot host, therefore will not have ref. planes perpendicular to host (a.k.a. the reference line).

I need those ref. planes to be perpendicular to host so i can use those planes as constraints for rebars.

I made the intermediary points adaptive and i used Normalized Curve Parameter with values 0.25, 0.5, 0.75. This way i don't need a reporting parameter.
