Hi,
I am from Australia.
I am a small steel fabrication shop and I perform my own steel detailing with Sketchup and Fusion.
When I have a larger job, I subcontract out the drawing so that the CNC files and drawings are produced to a higher quality and in less time. My current work flow is very "manual"
I am wondering if revit structures is currently at a level where it will produce shop drawings, CNC files, parts lists and part drawings in an "automated" way. I am not looking for Tekla type speed and efficiency yet (looks like this will be coming in the next few years with revit?).
I only do jobs up to 10 tonne of steel, say 10-15 beams and 20 to 30 Columns. Pretty simple residential stuff. I also fabricated stair cases and other Architectual steel elements.
Tekla is cost prohibitive for a small business like mine but Revit could be the solution I have been looking for. Would love to here from anybody in my position. Also is there Australian Steel Profiles in the software or can I add them some how.
Has anyone transitioned from Sketchup or Fusion?
Thanks
