Hi,
Im fairly new to Revit so this may be an easy question for a more experienced user to answer!
I have a line based family of pipes which work well when loaded into a model until it comes to scheduling the units. The schedule will call off the pipe runs as individual items rather than grouping them together even though they runs consist of the same units. I have added a shared parameter to the schedule which will count the pipes per run but what I really need is a total quantity for the whole site.
Any ideas or answers would be greatly appreciated!

You can use sorting and grouping to combine things and calculate totals
When you deselect "Itemize every instance" Items will be grouped together depending on the other sorting/grouping settings.
In above screenshot I have two pipe systems. One consists of 4 pieces of pipe with total length of 15.7 m. The other of 10 pieces with total length of 37.3 m.

Hi Louis,
Thanks for the advice. That has allowed me to schedule the number of units.
Another issue that has appeared is that the schedule is now calling off the total unit count but also calling off the number of pipe runs. See attached - top count is number of individual pipe runs on project. This is giving a grand total of 27 units for the project but should only be 24.
Kind Regards

If you need something exluded from the schedule you should use filtering on your schedule (see the filter tab).
Without knowing how your project is modelled it is difficult to give specific advice. Maybe you can upload (part of) your project so that I can have a look.

Example project attached with the pipe family positioned.
The family has not been imported into a 'live' project as of yet.
I looked at your family. I see that the line based family does not have the 'Name' parameter. This can be used to filter your schedule.
