Text Box Border Won't Resize (2018.2)

Hi All,

My text box border grip won't allow me to make the frame larger thus forcing the text to appear on multiple lines... It can be dragged smaller but once it reaches a certain size, no bigger.

Am I missing something really simple here?

Thanks,

From your image capture, you are running Revit 2018....not Revit 2018.2.  I think this issue occurred prior to the 2018.2 update.  Try updating the Revit software again.

Also, check your graphics card driver to ensure it is up to date and if possible, compliant to work with Revit.

Thanks Dzanta, just updated and still the same issue... I don't think it's a graphics card issue.

Any other ideas?

perhaps the text type you created is faulty....did you try a different text type...maybe make a new one from the default 1/4" arial...?

does that happened for all text in your project?

Hi All,

Just to close this out for others who may experience the same thing.

It turns out that I had exploded an autocad drawing into the model and that prevented any text box (new and existing) in the same project from getting larger.

Solution : Exploding ACad drawings in your project can really throw text box borders for a loop -> Don't explode anything (thanks to Dzan Ta for helping with this one).

for cad exploding , it's not recommended to explode cad in project or even family

it's very bad

BTW good to hear your issue has been solved

Hi, I had the same problem as you.

The solution I found was to ensure my CAD file was scaled so that text was 1 unit in height and then import the smaller detail into Revit.  I believe the problem is that the CAD files are scaled too large when imported and this throws Revit for a loop.
