Background Process for Structural Connections

I am currently working on a project where the individual in charge of the project wants to put all of the structural connection details into the Revit model.  The only issue I have noticed is when saving Revit says that it cannot be done due to Structural Framing is calculating.  I then go to the lower right hand corner and click on the background process and see that all of the structural connections are calculating but I am not able to stop this process.  Does anyone know of a way to stop this process because all we're doing is showing the details for show not actually using them to calculate anything.

I am currently using Revit 2018.2

Thanks!

Some processes in Revit run in the background so you can continue working and not have to wait for Revit to complete the current operation.

What you can see in the Background processes window are the processes of connection geometry calculation... it is not about the connections structural design.

The connections geometry you see till the calculation is finished is provisional one. That`s why some actions are blocked while the calculation tasks are in progress. They cannot be stopped because the connections cannot remain in a provisional state and the details will not be in a good shape.
