Temporary View Properties - views moved/invisible after synch

I use T.V.P all the time to make temporary changes to the views on our drawings, e.g making a linked model from another discipline visible and then printing the drawing to PDF for use in a meeting, to send in an email etc. It's a great feature and helps keep the number of views in my project down.

However, I've experienced that if I do not disable T.V.P before synching with central, the view might move on the sheet. Sometimes the view is not visible on the sheet (simply a blank space, but I can see find and manage the viewport as an object). Multiple users have reported the same issue to me as well. Anyone else recognizing this?

I want to push the use of T.V.P but this behaviour makes me reluctant to do so.

I encourage my staff to use the TVP and no one has reported any issues like that.

  • what version of Revit are you running?
  • have  you loaded all the newest patches/updates?
