Hello @Anonymous

Can you please check/provide the following:

  • which version of Revit you are using. 2015/16 or earlier?

To reinstall/add/remove Libraries&Templates on Revit 2015/2016 do the following:

  1. On the Windows Control Panel, select ProgramsPrograms and FeaturesUninstall or change a program,
  2. Select Autodesk Revit Content Libraries for the relevant release, and click Uninstall/Change.
  3. On the installation page, click Add or Remove Features.
  4. On the Add or Remove content page, select the content to add (make sure to select all the content you already have or else Revit will remove them)
  5. Click Next to update your Revit installation.

Hello @Anonymous

Looking at the log; you seem to have used direct install as it appears that the installation is still going through Akamai services. To work around this download and install from Autodesk Virtual Agent click through the links to the download section of the product you need.  It will download in parts.  When you extract or just double click Part 1 you will be prompted to extract to C:\Autodesk (preserve this location). Once the extraction is finished the installation should start.

  1. You either reinstall the whole program including the contents libraries or
  2. (IF YOU ARE SURE THERE ARE NO OTHER ISSUES WITH THE PREVIOUS INSTALLATION) you can just select the Autodesk content library and install it

This method the msi and all related installation files will be stored on your computer and you dont need to connect everytime you need to modify/repair the program.

Make you you check the following before you download/install

  1. You have admin access
  2. Add autodesk.com to your internet security safe/white list.
  3. Switch off any Antivirus and firewall
  4. Run disk cleaner and clear out all temp files before you download again

@Anonymous watch the video in the first post. You run the Autodesk Revit Content Library from Control Panel 2015...then Add/remove features .. then in the next dialog check the boxes you want to install.

Each of these boxes will download the Templates and Families/Libraries of the coresponding content library ie: US Metric, US Imeprial, UK, ....etc

When done selecting, click Next (not add content)

Once install complete your Templates and Libraries will be under this directory - C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2015\

NOTE:

After the above is complete what you might need to do is to

1. Go to Revit Menu (Blue R icon at the top left corner) then click on Options

2. Go to File Location

3. Set the right path to the right folder/file so that Revit will identify them by default.
