When drafting a shaft in Revit the symbolic lines are not appearing when the model is loaded into another (Site) model, but the symbolic lines do appear in the original model.
When it is loaded into the site model, the symbolic lines do appear on every floor apart from the ground floor. I have done some research and someone suggested changing the cut plane to 0, however this messes up the rest of the view, also our cut plane is set to a level where the symbolic lines should show in the view when the model is loaded into the site model.
Is there any way to get the symbolic lines to show on the ground floor when linked into another model?
Rather that editing the whole cut plane for the view could you place a Plan Region to replicate the cut at 0 workaround over that area so the override is just localised to this area and not the whole view itself
You could control the visibility of the linked model separately using this option (see picture below).
In the option you must choose "Custom" (instead of By Host View) and then you are able to make adjustments.
In this option, you could also choose wt what height you want your linked model to be cut.
So either adjust the cut plane height or control the symbolic lines in Model or Annotation Category in the dialog of the link.
Thanks for your reply, however I don't believe this is a cut plane issue, we have used a plan reign to update the cut plane separately but symbolic lines still not showing on the ground floor.
Have you tried changing your base constraint of the shaft so it's below the site cut plane?
In the New model if you create a Shaft opening with symbolic lines (use a cross arrangement instead of an X for clarify) in the same location and set it the same as the linked model does it show anything different? If not you could play with the alignment/offsets to see it it makes a difference.
Just to check, there are no conflicts with Design Options or Phases between models?
Hello OP! Did you figure it out what it was? I was having the same problem with symbolic lines not showing up in the Site model, even though the view was set "by linked view" & I realised it was a problem of having a mass over the building in the site model. Once I turned that off everything displayed properly.
