Structural steel connection revit 2018

hello all,

I encountered a problem with steel connections.

I am just trying to place a simple beam - column connection. But i get this error; 'Incomplete structuralSection parameters'. I allready checked the section shape in the family, for both families it on 'I-shape Wide Flange'. So this seems to be correct, right?

Hello Merlijn,

The issue is caused by the fact that there are missing values in the "Structural Section Geometry" category of the beam definition.

Please see bellow pictures, in which I displayed how you can correct such a situation.

Hi, sorry for my late reply.

I've an example of a connection where there's no parameters like that, but it's still working.

I changed the family name, type name, everything is exactly the same, but it's still not working with my profiles. I also started a new family in 2017 by the way.

The only thing i did not do is the parameters 'A' and 'W' is this really nesseccary?

When i click on a conncection, he has a 'input element' value. How does the connections know's what profile it is that he needs be connect?
