Hi, my students were excited when i showed them the new structural steel connection tool in Revit 2020. They are not excited anymore as every time they try and apply a connection it comes up with the warning "connection failed". I have created a very simple structure following a recommended tutorial on steel structures from YouTube. All i'm attempting to do is to apply a base plate to a column, but i'm also only getting this connection failed error. Is this a bug ???
I have attached the file below if anyone can help that would be great but as its so simple i suspect its a coding error rather than a user error

Hi, i think, if i'm looking at the correct area that we are running 2020.0.1, see attached. So the solution is for our IT department to install the update ???
Hi @EwanR
I cant see why it wouldnt work on your version of Revit, can you confirm the following
Are you using a standard template from 2020 or one that has been upgraded?
In the Visibility Graphics if you expand structural connections nothing is ticked in your model, (it should affect anything but try tuning on all the options for structural connections
Are the column families approved 2020 familes or are they again families that have been upgraded?
Maybe someone who is running your version of 2020 can test the file?

In your file, I deleted your connection and added a new one and it worked perfectly.
However, your connection parts was hidden in view.
Not sure why didn't work for you. but for me the file looks fine. May be you need to update the revit or the connections.

Hi, tried your suggestions but the connection are still failing. Will try this on another PC. Is it because I'm running the educational version ?? I doubt it as there should be no difference beyond the licence type.
