Section View to Drafting view

Hello,

I love Revit  and thanks for making this product and really good luck support and all team and members.

I have only one question, because typical sections needed, I want to create own library with drafting view,

because I can't save real section view to drafting (2d) view for using easily, so can I export somehow real section to make a drafting view ? or what you suggest for this ?

Thanks ,

LaSha , Structural Engineer .

You could export your section to dwg and then link it in your drafting view. Then you can use annotation tools to draw over the linked file. When ready you can drop the linked file.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

An alternative way to the solution of @L.Maas is to use Dynamo for this purpose. This way you don't have to export and import everything. I really love using it. HeartHeartHeart

Hello!

Would you mind explaining with a little more detail on how you would do that?

I would suggest you try to avoid importing and exporting, this will just lead to inaccuracies and lots of excess line types/weights etc in your model. I think if there is a dynamo script out there that would do this for you I would suggest that. If you are going to have to make your own script and your not up to speed on it, this is your chance to really look at your standard details, review them and start creating a new really locked down library of drafting views for your standard details. You may have to start some from scratch but this way you know where you are with them and you can trust them.

Tried it on 2019 and it does not work.. It says the path for the dll does not exist even if the dll is in the same folder
