schedule column

Hello,

I modeled a structure and I placed the structural columns from the foundations level all the way to the top (3rd floor)

Now i want to create a schedule column and divide the columns to levels so i could note the volume of the concrete needed in each level, the quantity and so on.

Is it possible?

i

you can do it easily by select all columns and set Top Level = Level 2

Then select all columns and Copy The Past to selected Levels = Level 3+level4

you can see it in Gif Attatched or HERE

If helped mark as a solution.

Hi, thank you for the effort but i do not wont to split the column , i just want to see the count, volume, length etc. of each level in the schedule

WITHOUT splitting the columns.

Hi @Anonymous

When the column extends from the base level all the way up to top roof level, your only option is to get the volume on each floor using a "Calculated Value"

Otherwise; if you want it automatically done using the volume parameter for floor by floor, your columns need to be modeled floor by floor (i.e. Not one element)

You can add the Count, Volume & Length in schedule, see the screencast how I have added parameters, in similar way you can find the count, length and length.

hi there @sureshchotrani

I am kinda interested in this topic but somehow I got confused by your answer. Are you saying that one can have a single column from Level 0 to Level 3 and in the schedule filter to show volume of the part on each level?!! Your video recoding always showing a column which is on 1 level and the original post asks about a column with Base Constraint is Level 0 and top Constraint Level 3 and we need the part of the total volume on each level!

It's kinda not adding up!

You got confused because what sureshchotrani is saying is irrelevant to your question as well as the OP. There is a way to schedule the volume per floor for a single multistory column extending from ground level to roof.

  1. If you want to maintain the column in its original state... you need to use calculated value (I believe this is what @Anonymous was asking; he wants the column to remain as is) - you can use dynamo to make life easier but not required it's pretty much easy.
  2. if you have no issues altering the column's original state you will need to
  • A...EITHER split the column over to several segments per level
  • B...OR convert the column to parts then schedule it as parts (using parts schedule you can associate each section of the column with a different level without changing the original base and top constraint of the original column)

edit...following screencast is a column parts schedule done in RVT 2016

I have modeled columns at each level separately. I though the user is looking for scheduling the column via schedule option.

@RDAOU is correct, you will not get this result without splitting columns.

Don't go create parts after click "create parts" but divided and then intersecting reference
