Hi All!

Following the question raised by Jeremy in his blog:

https://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/blog/2022/05/structural-questions-and-the-future-of-rex.html

There are some conversations here and there regarding long term strategy for REX Framework, component enhancing creation of 3rd party add-ins to Revit (mostly in the context of structures). If any one here would like to share his experience or opinion regarding personal use-cases it would be fantastic. What succeeded what failed; 'never heard' feedback is also a valuable feedback:)

All shared information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I have so many stuff to share. Not quiet related to freeform rebars or the topic in your link but other stuff.

I can link you to some topics:

reinforcement-of-basement-walls

- hook lengths and stock length + overlap sketches

area reinforcement in sloped floors (no idea if this is yet fixed in R22 or R23)

- Rebar shapes and hooks

- Visibility of rebars in detail views

Addins used are "REX" by Naviate (many flaws), AGACAD (best so far and still used), OptiBIM, SoFiSTiK (uses and updater and takes too long) + doesn't take care of rebars larger than stock lengths
