I assume the underlying issue that it does not automatically pick the exact alignment/orientation as the physical rebar in the View/Model and you feel this should always be the case as it is time consuming to manually change these where necessary!

There is an option to manually orientate the Schematic Bending Detail for those who are reviewing the post and looking for a solution?

when we change the angle this happens:

so the orientation is still not correct to the model

+ the start symbol in your example is not correct either and you have to change the rebar A-B to B-A

Apologies I recall the issue, if you are picking a bar where the placement is in the Opposite Face it take the original placement orientation for Schematic Bending Details!  It comes down to how the Bars were placed in the Host!

You could always Duplicate the Realistic Bending Detail and Edit the Type Parameters to Coarse for the Detail Level as this picks up the orientation better than the Schematic option!

Ok, now mirror that same rebar to the other side of the beam and / or mirror it upside down

or even sketch it the opposite side, then try your tag.

when drawn left side of the view, it's correct, when drawn right side it's all wrong

I need to change my tag orientation to the other side to make them match the rebars:
