Good day.

I have 2 similar foundations with rebar, in my bending schedule i am trying to show bars per member, can someone please help me with the formula to get the bars per member, it only shows the total bars of both foundations combined, which i also want, but i am also adding a column for bars per member.

You can utilise the Host Count Parameter - You can create a Calculated formula to divide by the Host Count or Break down per Host

Thanks for the reply,

So what i did was, i created a new formula, quantity/host count but it still does not add up to the correct amount, in the model, i have shape codes 38 12off in all directions, top and bottom, which add up to total of 48 shape code 38 same lengths, if i do the host count/quantity, it takes only the 12 and divides that.

For Quantity are you Calculating Totals?

I used this method

Aaah, i missed a step, i never switched on the "calculate totals",

Thank you so much for the asistance!

Antoher question, the total mass of each dia bar, is there a way to propegate that in the bending schedule?

You have a Parameter for Reinforcement Volume so again with a calculated Value using this and a value for the weight of the rebar should work

Click on Calculated Value button and insert Density of rebar as constant value (7850 kg/m3)

Ohky so if i add the "Reinforcement volume" field, with "calculated totals" it will show up in the bending schedule as a 1420cm3, do i add another scheduled field with calculated values to get the rebar mass?

Yes you have to as the Weight/Mass of the rebar to be calculated by the Value to get the overall Mass value

Here is a quick google search of a similar process so you can either create a Parameter for the Weight/Mass or just type it in manually

I created a Parameter for Weight

jay_colcombe_0-1724918412002.png

Then a Calculated Parameter

jay_colcombe_1-1724918467981.png

I then entered a Value into the Weight Field in the Schedule and the Mass is Calculated

Here is an example just using the Weight Value - Calculated Parameter (7850 kg/m³)
