Revit file slow to open in Windows 10

Currently have 13 workstations at our workplace. There is currently 3 running windows 10 on them, the other 3 are running Windows 7. Currently have to wait about 3 minutes for a single file to open on workstations running Windows 10. Have tried opening the same file in the Windows 7 computers and they open within seconds. A few things that i have tried are saving the files locally on the desktop. Use the "repair" feature and the uninstall/reinstall. Is there a quick solution to this?

The work station configuration might be working better with win 7

you should consult an it engineer

Thank you for touching base with us. As @Ahmed_Muharram mentioned, this very well may have to do with configuration of hardware and system optimization. Could you please provide the specifications for a Windows 7 and Windows 10 machine that you are seeing these results on?

Thank you!

Thank you for that information. On the machines that are slow, could you please verify that the regioning for Windows is set appropriately? Please see the instructions below.

  1. Go All Settings > Time & Language > Language > "Administrative Language Settings" > Change System Localeset a mark in Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support.
  2. Uncheck the box
  3. After that step go to Language setting and change the language to English
  4. Then reboot the computer.

Let me know if you see a performance increase after this task.

Hello,

I have had this problem with multiple workstations old and new out of the box, since windows 10 update 1903

after checking the Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support  the problem is solved on all of them

is says Localeset a mark in Beta,  does Beta mean that there is a change the problem will return if microsoft decides to remove this option?

Also can you tell me the rootcause?

this also works without using the beta unicode

> If display language of windows 10 is English other than English (United States) or English (United kingdom) then regional format should be English (United states) or English (United Kingdom). [English (World) also works]

You didn't specify which version of Revit you use, there are some system requirements to run those versions. just say. thanks

It happend on all revit versions  so from 2016 up to 2021, and on all sorts of hardware, workstations or laptops form different suppliers.  Just a upgrade from windows10 1803 to 1809 or 2020 brought the problem and sometimes not...  all had to with if you had more than 1 language installed.(

i found other post on microsoft forums which stated that these problems happend with other software as well so it is not specific autodesk related
