Revit Extensions for Revit 2019

While waiting for version 2019, do you think that the version 2018 of Revit Extensions for Revit 2018 can be used on version 2019.

It's true, the question can be astonishing but, I ask it anyway

I don't think according to past experience with old versions. Actually some software are following this trend but I don't think Revit will.

True, those are the current add-ins for 2019. (https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles...)

But, that list does not include specifically "Revit Extensions for Autodesk Revit 2019"

Which in past versions included the following tools: reinforcement for concrete members, timber framing, framing & grid generators, and some misc tools. (https://up.autodesk.com/2018/REVIT/REX_2018_readme_English.html)

It would be nice to know if the individual tools have been built into Revit 2019, will be released as an add-in, or are now dead in the water.

If the 2018 version can be pulled up to 2019, it is a valid question.

Thank you to whomever has an answer.

Hi Andrea!

I'm also trying to solve this 'missing extensions' issue. Have you had any luck?

Do you perhaps have any workarounds/alternative applications to get around this issue and make rebar creation in Revit more efficient?

Thanks!

Sorry Chris. Have not found an answer yet or had the opportunity to test
work arounds. I'll post if I find something.

Have a great afternoon!

Hi @andrea_kohl,

Hi @info,

Revit structure extension has been taken over by a company called symetri. They will release the new revit extension for structure in coming moths for Revit 2019. You can check this link for further information.

https://www.naviate.com/product/naviate-rebar-extension/p-659

Symetri will deliver the reinforcement extension capabilities within Revit® Extensions for Autodesk® Revit® 2019 as part of our Naviate Rebar Extension. We will make it available at no cost to customers using Revit® 2019 and will be released in coming months. We are excited to have this agreement with Autodesk to extend Revit for reinforcement detailing in a larger way for Autodesk customers. We will continue to enhance its capabilities and deliver even more productive features, for the rebar extension users in the future. Please stay tuned for the 2019 version of Naviate Rebar Extension.

Thank you, but the reinforcement component wasn't the only one I was relying
on.

Hi @andrea_kohl,

if you would like to get the other functions from REX2018 to 2019

you can install the REX 2018 first and copy this three addins file show in the picture from this location "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2018" to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2019

Thank you for sharing the Revit Official Blog link to Autodesk's article about their technology partners taking over the Revit Extensions for 2019.

So next question... how do we get those apps?

I've been to their websites via the provided links.

Naviate Rebar Extension appears to be coming in the near future.

The rest are trials or purchase. How do I prove I have a Revit license?

Through the Autodesk App Store? It is only a trial?

I am sorry to say but it has been solved.

Autodesk has decided they are not providing REX tools for Revit 2019.

Third party companies are in process to replace some of the REX tools as noted in above posts.

Bumping the REX2018 tools to Revit 2019 has had mixed results.

Modeling:

frame generator, grid generator, rafter framing, and roof trusses appear to work.

wood framing walls fail.

The Reinforcement tools: all appear to fail.

The Tools:

compare models and element positioning appear to work.

So if you choose to bump REX2018 to Revit 2019.

Do so at your own risk.

I do not know if any other issues within Revit 2019 would arise from utilizing them.
