Hello everyone!
I have created a new family (pallets) in Revit 2023. When I put the objects into my building model, Revit does not recognize a collision with existing components (here in the example drywall). You can see the problem in the screenshot (yellow).
Is there a possibility to switch this function on during the parameterization of families?
If you put a drywall on an already existing drywall, Revit recognizes a collision and gives an "error message". Is something like this also possible for newly created families?
Thank you very much in advance!
Many greetings
Alwina

Revit will not do this automatically for you it assumes in some instance you are placing this way on purpose.
If the item you are placing if of the same family category you will get a warning.
Ways around this are to embed hidden voids in a family which are of another category so to call out such errors on placement.
Alternatively you could use the Revit Interference Check - Collaborate Tab > Interference Check but again you need to ensure your families fall into one of the clashing recognised categories
This post takes into consideration additional items in families

First of all, thank you very much for your quick answer!
This raises a few new questions for me:
1) How can I embed hidden spaces in a family that belong to a different category to report such placement errors?
2) And do you have a list of families that fall into one of the recognized clash categories?
Thank you very much in advance!
1. You have to create a New Family and nest it in the Palette Family (Insert Family/Component)
2. Good question, Here is a some examples from the Revit Sample Architectural model with the Sample MEP & Structural Models Linked - Generic model would be most likely but i have seen it with WC components where they nest in a generic model under the pipe category to see if clashes with beam and walls below,
What category is the Family in now? Can you run a check on this as is?

I am really sorry for my late reply. I am writing my thesis and have many other things to do for it.
I have created my Revit family in the General Model category. I use the German Revit 2023 version, so it may be that you do not know this category. I tried to translate it.
No problem!
