We have customized our symbolic lines for beams, and use the Symbolic Representation = "From Family" Setting in many of our Framing Families. Several graphic challenges have presented themselves.
1. We cannot show moment connection symbols at the ends of framing members that use custom symbology? How can this be corrected?
2. When using structural connections (baseplates, etc..) the internal linework of the framing member(hidden faces, etc..) will not terminate at the ends of the member, but can be too short or too long, in other words the ends sort of break graphically. How can this be corrected? Even happens with a simple coped connection.
3. When using connections we cannot control all of the symbology, an extra line appears within our beams when connections are used (coarse plan).
4. It's hard to edit views on sheets when using connections, the view bounds reach out to hidden connections making the bounds of every detail HUGE, and reducing these takes much time, how can this be corrected??
5. You cannot phase base plates, etc..!
Structural connections are nice, but maybe you should not advertise their existence until they can actually be used in a real world project(those that require drawings).
