Revit 2019 linked file graphic override problems

a new problem with Revit 2019

if i link another model in and try to change the display settings in VG projection lines and cut lines to another line wheight like 1 or even 16 nothing happens,

never had this problem with any other versions of Revit

Exactly right.  Like Materials, Line Weights are defined by the Link.

Try this setting, in the link RVT Link Display Setting, keep Basic tab to Custom. Change the Model Categories to By Host View. You can change the settings without going into the RVT link tab.

I had a similar problem. I couldn't override the color of light fixtures in my linked electrical model. I opened the linked electrical Revit file and opened the light fixture family, looked at the ceiling plan view in the family, and found the lines were actually  a "Detail Items" family. I then went to my view template graphic overrides for the revit link and put in an override for "Lighting," a subcategory under "Detail Items." This allowed me to override the color. This may not be your same issue, but I would suggest examining the families in the linked model.

 

I also had issue with phase filters. The linked model was not picking up the graphic overrides I had set in phase filters. I found my file and the linked file both needed to be set to the same phase filter "Show Previous + New."
