Hi Jason, I have a few extra questions, does anyone else in the office have the same issue? Is it possible you can send me the file so I can test out the main issue?

Silly question: Is Thin Lines turned off?

FWIW: I don't have any like issues with Revit 2019.

Hi Jason, I was able to test a possible solution. Properties > View Templates > select None. After that, V/G Overrides > Revit Links > Basics > click Custom. Here you can change line weights in Model Categories for linked RVT files.

I'm not using view templates and there is no control for view templates in a linked view that i'm aware of

Hi Jason I took a look at the model with the linked RVT files and the Display Settings are set to custom. After you click on the Custom button, it brings up the RVT Linked Display settings, are you not able to change Model Categories? Make custom 1.PNGcustom.PNGsure these two settings are in place.

yes that is what i have been doing but the line weight does not seem to have any effect on the model, i can adjust the color of the lines but not the weight, i tried line 1 and line 16 and the line weight stays the same

I going to ask the question again: Is Thin Lines turned off or on?

Can you override the linework in the Link itself? I mean, have you unloaded the Link from the Project and opened it independently to see if you can override its linework?

Is this an issue with all host views in which the Link resides, or just one view in the host?

...it would be faster to troubleshoot if we had the Link.  Is it possible for you to post it here?

seems to be just in plan views,

thinking it may be an issue with view template in the link,

there is no way to control that within the host, that i know of

i cant post a link

Well, if it's a template, then go through VG overrides in the Template -- not directly.

Do you know if the link file has any other linked files in that? If so, Manage Link > Reference Type > Attachment.

Also make sure on the tab, the Path Type is Absolute, from the information you gave me, the linked file is pulled from BIM 360 and is not on the same drive.

I see from the Screencast, you can not see the linked view quiet clearly. In your V/G Overrides, uncheck Halftone.

i have changed the reference type to attachment and it doesnt fix anything and you cannot change the path type from cloud to absolute and i want the background to be halftone that has no affect on the line weight

From the information I gathered, it seems there are filters within the linked files. Check all the linked files that are connected to this project and see in V/G override tab in Filters tab. If there are, these will override the custom option in the project.

i think it has everything to do with the line weights in the linked model

line 1 in the linked model for 1/8" scale is .0050"

and in the host model it is .0030"

i would think that doing a graphics override would accept the host model setting but it does not appear to be the case
