I'm bumping this thread because I'm having the same issue with Revit 2023. There is no Z-break control and no blue dot either. Can anyone help?

Update: I found this, but when I open the schedule "Split & Place" is greyed out. Any ideas?

Did anyone ever find a real solution to this issue? I have a client using Revit 2023 and the schedule breaks are completely missing, no controls except for the column spacing in a sheet view. None of the links on this feed address this either. Is this a software glitch? Something that needs to go up the chain? I don't seem to have the issue when I create a schedule. Maybe software updates? Any help would be much appreciated.

In my case, what I found is that the schedule had already been split and I hadn't noticed in the browser. Once I deleted those splits I was able to recreate new ones.

We deleted the schedule from the sheet and tried to drag and drop it back on to a sheet with no change 😞

If it's not working for you as is, delete it in the browser, not just in the sheet. Then you can re-create it.

It's a fairly large schedule and we are trying to avoid rework. That maybe what we end up doing but doesn't really fix the issue.

Faced the same problem recently, and the only solution that worked (without recreating the whole schedule) was to duplicate the problematic schedule. The duplicated version had  the Z-control. So we just deleted the original one and dragged the duplicated on the sheet.

I was having this same issue. I found the solution to be fairly simple after some poking around. In my case I needed to:

1. go over to the project browser

2. select the schedule and notice the + sign next to it.

3. click the plus sign to reveal that the schedule was actually split even though on the sheet only one split was evident. In my case it showed a 1/2 split and a 2/2 split.

4. Delete the empty splits (if you select the wrong split just UNDO and try again with a different one)

5. click on the schedule on the sheet to see that it now has the z-break to resplit as you please.

Hope that helps!

I found that you can't adjust the scehdule while its on a page.  Remove it from the page, then the split option will be available.
