No idea why its a PDF attached. Anyway to save problems simply I want to put a recess into an existing vertical column. The column is 400mm square, the recess is 50mm deep

Accepted solution

I would create a void extrusion that has parameters to control its left, right, top and bottom distances from the edges of the structural column.  See Revit file attached.
