Radial distribution of a sketched rebar

HI All,

In addition to my subject below,

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/sump-shape-modeling-parameters-using-concept...
I want to draw radial distribution of my rebar shape according the angle 9.731° us shown in the picture below

rebar radial distribution.JPG

I have not found another solution to draw a radial distribution of my rebars than by using a radial array!!...but when creating array I can't modify my rebars (each rebars became a single group and thoses properties are not shown on properties tab and my others rebars are hidden in 3 D view?)

rebar 3D view.JPG

PS: I've sketched my rebars shapes because I can't create them with aligned function in Revit due to my sump shape created as a generic model that nest and cut my slab, in this case the selected wall faces don't give me the shape I want.

So How can I create radial distribution of my sketched shape like the aligned function in Revit and keep their properties to modify and schedule them in a table?

Thanks.

When you array, uncheck the Group and associate and they will neither be grouped not associated to the array...

HI DR.RD
Thank you for your reply ... I did not notice that I should uncheck the group and associate when I array!!

As I say in my first post, I don't understand why my rebars are hidden in 3D view and shown in detail and plan view?

maybe I made manipulation to made they hidden but I don't know what it is? ...I have checked in the properties and visibility settings and everything looks good ?? ... how to solve this problem?

Thanks.

You hid them in the view...click on the Bulb to Reveal Hidden elements >>> select and from the Ribbon Unhide them

Also, if it is possible, you can duplicate the geometry of the tank, without the sump and reference that to create the rebar using aligned distribution free form rebar.

You can then hide that geometry.

You can also use free form rebar shape matching, to have the bars matched to rebar shapes in the project and extract the segment lengths.

This way you can change the spacing or number of bars, unlike the array, where if you ungroup, you have to recreate in order to change the number of bars.

Hi Ovidiu.paunescu

thank you for your reply
it's a good idea to duplicate the tank and hide it afterwards to be able to create a free form of rebar that we want ..

I imagine the idea but I did not quite understand how to proceed !!?

Indeed, I was looking for another more practical method to distribute my rebars as I want and I had no other choice than to use an array distribution !! but as you say in this case each rebar is independent of the others and we will not be able to change the spacing or the shape of them for the whole.

Please check my attached file above
Can you for example made a demonstration video for me how to create a distribution for the rebar shape in the image below with 15cm spacing?

Thanks.

Hi Ovidiu.Paunescu

Thanks for your reply and for these shared examples

Please, where can I find the Officebuilding.rvt file you mentioned in the document "Rebar Modeling in Revit: Keep It in Check" so I can follow the steps you indicated in the exrcices and well understand?

Have a nice day

Thanks.

I still stuck to find solution of my problem!!...anyone can help me to model my rebar shape as I indicated on my post above?
I tried various host geometry to model my rebar shape but it's not matched as I want!!... I receive a warning message saying me that my rebar is out host!! (I can't add horizontal upper edge of my shape as shown below)

rebar section_out host.JPG

In fact, I want my rebars intersects as shown on picture below like in staircase case(scissor rebar) and in the same time I want maintaining the curved path of the edge on the extremity as in the pictures below

rebar_curved path.JPGrebar_scessor.JPG

(I don't want to use array distribution of sketched rebar because it does not given me possibility to modify the whole of the rebar's spaces and numbers)

Help me pleass!!

NB: please check my attached Revit file in post above.

Thanks.
